PRECCO was created to support the partnership between the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (ESCEO), the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF), and the World Health Organization (WHO), bringing together a collection of organizations that place the osteoporotic patient at the center of their priorities. Over a 5-year period, ESCEO and IOF have committed to supporting the WHO to deliver a strategic roadmap of research and publication deliverables, in recognition of the fact that osteoporosis is a global public health challenge.
The ESCEO, IOF, and WHO partnership has a range of objectives. This includes (but not limited to):
To collect data on the prevalence and incidence of osteoporosis and fractures in older persons.
To support efforts to strengthen national health information systems to integrate information about osteoporosis and fractures within routine data monitoring.
To gather data for economic modeling to build a case for investment in fracture prevention and care.
To review evidence on interventions for preventing fracture in older persons for guideline development.
To facilitate evidence-informed decision-making in designing policies and programs.
Naitive's participation underscores our commitment to advancing research and policy development in osteoporosis. It aligns closely with our mission to facilitate earlier detection, precise diagnosis, and optimal treatment for individuals affected by chronic bone diseases.
"Naitive's collaboration with PRECCO highlights our commitment to enhancing population health at a global level," said Dr. Will Briggs, CEO of Naitive. "The work of the ESCEO, IOF, and WHO will change the lives of millions of people with osteoporosis for generations to come, and we’re proud to be associated with it."
